I guess if Alec Baldwin really wanted to change this world, he’d make his social media account public so everyone can see what he’s saying and join in on the conversation. But he’s not doing that. Instead, he’s sitting online shouting out demands, behind a “private/locked” social media account. That’s rather strange for a public figure, but because he just shot and killed someone, I can see why he might do that. But an even better idea would be to stay off social media and work on industry changes behind the scenes without getting loads of fanfare and PR from a select and approved group of the public that “likes” you.

But that’s not Alec, is it?
No. This is not about the woman he killed. This is all about him.
So, what new demands does Alec have?

Fox News reported that Alec Baldwin took to social media on Monday to share his idea to make film and TV sets that use firearms more safe — hire police officers.
The 63-year-old actor has been at the heart of an ongoing debate in Hollywood about the use of real guns during production after an on-set accident involving him left “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead and director Joel Souza wounded. As investigators look into what caused the deadly incident, specifically how live ammunition made its way onto the set in the first place, many are placing the blame on Baldwin as well as the handful of other people who handled the firearm prior to the accidental shooting incident.
On Monday, Baldwin issued a rare social media post since the tragedy to note that he believes having a police presence paid for by networks or studios would lead to fewer gun-related mishaps.

“Every film/TV set that uses guns, fake or otherwise, should have a police officer on set, hired by the production, to specifically monitor weapons safety,” he wrote Monday.
Maybe Alec has his account locked so people won’t remind him that these are already the rules in New York City.
But he probably already knew that, since he’s been an actor for eons.
Alec Baldwin was the “Rust” film’s primary producer and he could have implemented these types of rules and restrictions any time he wanted to.
He could have had a police officer on set. It was his “set” he could do whatever he wanted.
But then there’s this…
Isn’t it ironic that Alec Baldwin bashed police for months while defending the stance to defund and now wants their help on movie sets……

Word has it that there were a lot of “safety issues” on his movie set, and many people complained, to no avail.
I guess Alec didn’t care about safety when safety would have mattered most.
And I suppose those are the kinds of comments Alec doesn’t want to hear while he tries to repair his wounded “brand” and that’s why his social media account is “private.”
It sounds to me like Alec is engaging in a very “controlled” PR stunt.
