Here We Go Again: Voting Machines Across PA County Not Accepting Republican Ballots in Local Races

Wow, you read this story and you can’t help but wonder if Dems doing a “trial run” for 2022 right now in PA?

There are primary elections happening right now in Pennsylvania, and while these elections don’t generate a lot of buzz nationwide, they’re really important in Pennsylvania.

Today, PA citizens will choose the candidates who will run for municipal, school board, county, and judicial races.

Those casting ballots will be voting for people who will help set local tax rates, establish school policies and rule on criminal cases. These votes determine who will be deciding some of the most important matters in Pennsylvania…and of course, the voting machines had so-called “glitches.”

And will you be surprised to know that all the glitches reportedly happened to Republican ballots?

Yep. I’m sure you’re shocked.

Early on, the Herald Standard reported that some Fayette County voters found their ballots were rejected by the scanning machine on Tuesday because they were missing bar codes due to a printing error.

Commissioner Scott Dunn said they received word that “many” Republican ballots and some Democrat ballots were printed without bar codes. As of late Tuesday afternoon, Dunn said he couldn’t give a total number of ballots that would have to be counted by hand.

However, there’s been an update to that earlier story.

Washington Examiner is reporting that The Fayette County Bureau of Elections told KDKA, a local CBS affiliate, that several precincts were having difficulty scanning bar codes on all ballots, and several voters told the outlet that their Republican ballots were not accepted. Chris Varney, an elections judge, told the outlet the issue was initially believed to be affecting all ballots, but officials then determined the problem only affected Republican ballots.

Poll workers said they took notice of the issue first thing in the morning after some ballots were placed onto the scanner and then spit back out.
Betty Rae Smith, a judge of elections for Washington Township, said all of the Republican ballots there were without bar codes.

“I’ll just have to count them by hand,” she said early Tuesday.

Joe Scalise, a judge of elections for Fayette City, said he had a rough morning with Republican ballots being rejected — and then he started hearing that it wasn’t just his precinct, but a countywide issue.

Dunn said precinct workers were told to have voters use machines for those with disabilities. Those machines are configured differently and will print out ballots that the ballot scanner will accept, he said.

Around 1 p.m., Dunn said officials were working to get ballots reprinted for the bigger Republican districts in the county; however, he said that would take time.
“The sheets are 17 inches long, and we have to print them on both sides,” Dunn said.

Around 4 p.m., he said they were able to send the reprinted ballots to about eight or nine precincts.

He said he couldn’t explain what happened during the printing process, but said the issue wasn’t with Dominion’s voting machines as the company does not print the ballots.

The only way that you can cheat out in the open is with a lot of chaos and tons of disruption – the type of stuff you can late brush off as “honest mistakes” or “just glitches.”

Imagine this happening during midterm in a lot of key counties at once?

Here we go again, right?

We’re the United States of America, yet, lately, we’re holding elections that look like a banana republic – and that has to be by design because we’re not that incapable…at all.
