Limits of Denmark's Welfare State

Over on the Institute for Family Studies blog, I have some thoughts on a new study.

Basically, Denmark redistributes a lot of income, which reduces inequality. But it seems to have less of an impact on important measures of social mobility. For example, the relationship between parents’ income and their kids’ test scores is pretty similar between Denmark and the U.S., and so is the correlation between parents’ and kids’ educational attainment.
