You have to wonder who is talking to President Donald Trump and who is responsible for the vetting of possible candidates to run in 2022 and 2024 that will have the former President’s endorsement for a winning combination because Harriet Hageman, the Wyoming attorney running against Liz Cheney in an upcoming primary seems like a huge miss.
Not only did Hageman support Cheney during her 2016 congressional campaign, she strongly opposed President Trump. Believe it or not, Hageman reportedly also tried to stop then-candidate Trump from getting the Republican nomination in 2016, calling him “racist and xenophobic.”

CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski posted a Twitter video where Hageman referred to Cheney as a “proven, courageous, constitutional conservative.” Hageman went on to accuse specific forces of trying to shut down “true conservatives” like Cheney.
“There have been and will continue to be concerted efforts to force true conservatives to sit down and shut up,” Hageman continued. “Those efforts have never worked on me, and I know that they will not work on and have no effect on Liz Cheney.”

According to the New York Times, Hageman was actually “part of the final 2016 Republican resistance to [Trump’s] ascent,” and get this; she was part of the group that attempted to strip him of his presidential nomination at the party’s national convention.
Hageman described Trump as “the weakest candidate” and condemned him as “racist and xenophobic,” writes the Times.

But the New York Times also claims that Trump knows about all of this and still supports Hageman to defeat Cheney. You hope the former President understands what is happening here because the Cheney people will use her words during the campaign.
