Opinion: Rep. Majorie Greene Regrets QAnon Conspiracy Threats; Dems Still Remove Her From Committee Assignments

Well, Democrats are really doing things expecting it never to come back on them, eh? Let’s see how that plays out.

On Thursday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene went to the House of Representatives’ floor to give words on her past actions. She regretted past statements in references to QAnon conspiracy theories and claimed they didn’t represent her beliefs before a vote was taken up to strip her from committee assignments.

Greene told the House members, “I was allowed to believe things that weren’t true, and I would ask questions … and talk about them. And that is absolutely what I regret. If it weren’t for the Facebook posts and commented that I liked in 2018, I wouldn’t be standing here today, And you couldn’t point a finger and accuse me of anything wrong. Because I’ve lived a perfect life that I’m proud of and my family’s proud of.”

Democrats were dead wrong to do this and it will come back on them if the GOP decides to find a spine and enact the same rules used against our side, on them.

Before I go further, Green placed a huge bullseye on her back on the first day in Congress, trying to make a statement about impeaching Joe Biden. She should have waited, but she wanted to make a name for herself from the jump and thus hurt her own cause, especially with her carrying luggage.

I have had an issue with her QAnon connection for a while now and other so-called conservatives. I think they did major damage to our cause, but I can talk about that later. I have not been able to get past a few things she’s said about minorities, and I even had her on my show. I was cordial, and I didn’t cause any problems, but I was uneasy about it. When I checked out her videos on Tik Tok, it’s so much there; I was shocked nobody ever saw that material.

She published tons of videos explaining her opinions on school shootings, false flags, conspiracies, threats, and other horrible content. But before this speech, I have never seen a video where she recants any of it. Again, she has every right to believe in what she believes but to retract her belief in QAnon and then have her committee assignments removed has to be super hard.

In politics, when we support a person, we support the way they choose to conduct themselves and are thereby share, in a small way, the achievements/consequences of their actions. It’s called holding people responsible for their words and actions. Marjorie Taylor Greene has given any responsible, rational person more than enough reason to withdraw their support. Expecting those we support to a NOT outright call for people’s deaths is about the lowest bar we can set, and she slid easily below it.

With all that said, I think that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib should be removed from whatever seats they have over their anti-Semitic rhetoric.

It’s good Greene is willing to turn the page. Hopefully, the GOP will move on from the populist infestation living within it and return to being the conservative party of low taxes and common sense freedoms and liberties. We need a strong, smart GOP to make America great again truly.
