Pope Francis has had a long history of being anti-gun…
As a matter of fact, he declared in 2015 that those who manufacture guns can’t call themselves Christian and condemned those that buy firearms.
Francis issued his toughest condemnation to date of the weapons industry at a rally of thousands of young people at the end of the first day of his trip to the Italian city of Turin.
“If you trust only men you have lost,” he told the young people in a long, rambling talk about war, trust and politics after putting aside his prepared address.
“It makes me think of … people, managers, businessmen who call themselves Christian and they manufacture weapons. That leads to a bit a distrust, doesn’t it?” he said to applause.
He also criticised those who invest in weapons industries, saying “duplicity is the currency of today … they say one thing and do another.”

Well, Pope Francis is back at it with this pompous tweet that suggest that owning a weapon doesn’t keep you or your nation safer.
We need to dismantle the perverse logic that links personal and national security to the possession of weaponry. This logic serves only to increase the profits of the arms industry, while fostering a climate of distrust and fear between persons and peoples. #UN75 @UN

Of course Pope Francis is a completely out of touch hypocrite, because here’s some damning photo’s of the Swiss Guard’s royal armory, which contains a slew of weapons they use to protect him.

Apparently weapons are a big no no, unless it’s protecting the Pope.
His life is somehow more valuable then everyone else’s.
