Princess Bride Actor Responds After Rittenhouse Court Ruling; But Should He Have?

‘The Princess Bride’ star Cary Elwes pushed a liberal narrative about the Kyle Rittenhouse trial.

As the actor put it, “Another dismal win for White vigilantism.”

Does it ever occur to these old actors that vague overtures to social justice don’t actually place them back in the limelight, but merely reveal their ugly personalities and poison the nostalgia that would have kept them popular? More and more you see how spoiled, shallow and utterly disconnected from reality these folks are.

Rittenhouse, then a 17-year-old, killed two men and injured a third during a disturbance in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last year. After a day of deliberation, Rittenhouse was found not guilty of all charges.

As far as celebrities who spoke out, it wasn’t only Cary Elwes.

He said, “We just witnessed a system constructed on white supremacy condone the terroristic deeds of a White Supremacist,” ex-NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick said. “This just strengthens the case for abolishing our current system. There’s no turning back the tide of white supremacy.”

“Ha, if only the boy had been black, things would have been different…

Bubba Wallace, a NASCAR racer, added, “He would have been murdered before that phony trial even got started. “Sad.”

Ted Cruz (R-TX) is a fan of “The Princess Bride,” and Elwes blasted him for it earlier this year.

Isn’t it disheartening to know that the entire cast and crew of your beloved movie The Princess Bride, as well as nearly the entire entertainment business, have nothing but furious scorn for you? Via Twitter, Elwes inquired.

In response, Cruz shared a photo of an Elwes photo framed with the actor’s message “To Sen. Cruz.” “All the best.” Is this a sign that you want your photo back?” Cruz inquired.

Elwes seems to be one more unimportant lefty actor with an opinion, this time based on a few minutes of the prosecution’s highlights, without any opportunity for the defense to counter them.

If he’d seen the prosecution’s gag reel, he’d have seen how all the prosecution’s witnesses turned into defense witnesses.

Another disappointing take from an actor that plays a character I like. I like the character, not the actor. I’m glad they can’t help but out themselves as bad people that don’t deserve our business or attention. It’s sad as it demeans the art they are part of. My brain won’t let me watch princess bride without making this connection.

People should remember that important distinction. Writers should get paid more and actors should get paid less.
