Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) spoke out this weekend to launch a truly vile attack on Donald Trump, going so far as to compare his presidency to elephant dung.
While appearing on ABC’s “This Week,” Pelosi claimed that she wants to reach a deal on a new coronavirus relief bill sooner rather than later.

“Because we want to have an agreement we can come to negotiation, and we can do it now but what’s the difference, a few days, except we can have it before the election, which we want it as soon as possible,” she said. “And I certainly want it because I don’t want to have to be sweeping after this dumpings of this elephant as we go into a new presidency in a few short months.”
“We’ll see. I’m not in the Senate,” Speaker Pelosi tells @GStephanopoulos when asked if the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett is a done deal.
“What I am talking about is how we win this election because we have to offset whatever … this Court may do.” https://t.co/AaPeiGcr3W pic.twitter.com/PTsYa0gHuV

Pelosi did not elaborate on whether she was referring to Republicans collectively with her use of the word “elephant,” or if she meant Trump specifically. She would not respond when Fox News reached out to her office for clarification.
Pelosi spent a large portion of this interview discussing negotiations between Democrats and Republicans over the next pandemic response package, explaining that they have 48 hours to reach a deal in order to pass legislation before November’s election. She claimed that it was not accurate when officials in the Trump administration said Democrats agreed to language for a testing plan.
“On this subject where we have agreement, we don’t have agreement on the language yet, but I’m hopeful,” Pelosi said, adding that the administration changed terms like “requirements” to “recommendations,” and “plan” to “strategy,” and “shall” to “may.”
“When you say ‘may’ you’re giving the president a slush fund,” Pelosi alleged. ” He may do this, he may grant, he may withhold.”

She went on to claim that Republicans “took out 55% of the language we had there for testing and tracing.” Pelosi added that this is crucial because a lack of sufficient testing and tracing has contributed to minorities being more heavily impacted by COVID-19. She then called for a “national plan,” while the GOP said states should set their own strategy, with the ability for CDC to provide guidance.
“You cannot leave it up to the states to decide how they’re going to address the minority community,” Pelosi said.
She concluded by saying that while she is optimistic about reaching a deal, whether or not it happens before the election is up to the Trump administration.
